Established in 1977, Bethel Heights is one of Oregon's oldest established wineries. Their estate-owned vineyards contain volcanic and marine soils and sit upwards of 620 feet above sea level. Hand harvesting and organic farming have been the practices at this estate for almost 40 years.
With the ever-important Aeolian winds bursting through the Van Duzer Corridor from the ocean, vineyards planted in the path of these winds are quickly cooled from the days heat, amplifying their aromatic qualities, and preserving their bright, fresh fruit flavors.
In 2005 Ben Casteel (son of Terry and Marilyn) took over from his father as Winemaker at Bethel Heights. Today, almost 40 years after their creation, Bethel Heights is among the most highly regarded and highly rated estates in all of Oregon and is synonymous with Eola-Amity Hills.
